Solution For our clients who choose to market their books through createspace.com, we have worked with createspace.com management to establish the following protocol:

Utilize the createspace.com ISBN to market your book through their channels (Amazon.com, createspace.com). Since that ISBN is not portable to other retail channels, you can use your Independent Publisher ISBN to market to other retailers (brick and mortar book retailers, etc.).
